The objectives of the book is to produce recommendations to serve as international guidelines for the establishment of veterinary education and training programmes and facilities. Among the 60 recommendations put forth by the experts, the following are the major importance : meeting the urgent need for information services; filling the need for a full-time FAO veterinary education officer; recognizing the increasingly important role of national veterinary association; pooling resources by regions; and revising traditional teaching methods.
