Synopsis Crime is an act, or commission of an act, that is forbidden or the omission of a duty that is commanded by a public law and that makes the offender liable to punishment by that law. The challenge of crime to society changes with the advance of civilisation, particularly as technology continues to increase. Societal and scientific concepts of crime are related to antisocial behaviour of criminals. It is a common fact that the general public and government officials have very limited understanding of the true nature and extent of crime. Any serious study looking into the understanding and control of crime should be insighted from a wide variety of disciplines for it to be advantageous in providing justice to the needed one. Even in this digital age of cyberspace, no state possesses defensible borders to crimes. The new century therefore should bring greater technological innovation and a law enforcement community prepared for the cyberspace criminals.
