Synopsis In the present work the author has tried to construct the social history of Chotanagpur. This Division of Bihar is considered to be very important from the social point of view. Here we have the glimpses of the confluence of tribal and non-tribal cultures. The author has laboured hard to present the Social Life of both the tribal and non-tribal inhabitants of this region. He deals with their social divisions, social manners and customs, housing, food, drinks, dress, ornaments, festivals, fairs, games and sports.
