Sociology is the study of social behaviour or society, including its origins, development, organisation, networks, and institutions. Social institutions are major structures made up of groups or ideas that influence people's daily lives, views of the world, or integration into society.

Present book is a compilation of 36 papers in 4 parts: rural development and social institutions, sustainable development and social livelihood, cultural change and discrimination, and social justification and social change. It is hoped that the present edition of this book will be beneficial to all concerned of the society, in general and students, lawyers, advocates, academicians, human rights institutions, researchers and NGOs working in sociology field, in particular.
