Tribal Women Workers: A Study of Young Migrants

Synopsis "It is, primarily, a study of the socio-economic conditions of the tribal women who have migrated to Delhi from Chhotanagpur in search of a livelihood and have found a somewhat satisfactory answer from working in the various urban unorganized sectors. I have also tried to look into the impact of the changed circumstances, living conditions and a completely different alien value-system on these hapless migrants. The purpose is to make our readers conscious of the devastating effects of "development" in a capitalist mode of production, where human beings also become a means to development and not its beneficiaries. The motivation behind this kind of work came as a result of my day to day interaction and work with them, and for them."
