Health is a multidimensional perception that is not easy to identify in a distinct measure. Since independence, health scenario in Kerala has been maintaining well with a wide spread availability of medical care facilities and a high level of health awareness among people. While Kerala has made remarkable achievements with respect to mortality and fertility, several studies showed that the level of morbidity is reported to be high. For making an objective assessment of disease burden of Kerala, estimates of morbidity are essential. This book explore the levels, differentials and determinants of morbidity in Kerala and to examine the variation of determinants across the different regions and various stages of life course and socio-economic backgrounds using primary data. The people are now facing the problem of high morbidity both from re-emergence of communicable disease, non-communicable diseases and ageing problems.
