Synopsis This book, a collection of papers by Indian and German scholars, discusses the metamorphosis of the concepts of federalism and decentralisation and their relevance today as part of the democratic process and explores the constitutions of Germany and India as to how they deal with these concepts. The scholars have built on the text by striking a comparison between the two constitutions which have features of modern federalism and were framed almost at the same time. They have delved on the commonalities and identifiable peculiarities and uniqueness of both the constitutions.
