The camel and llamas are belong to the desert area and these animals are prevalent only in a very limited area in the globe i.e dry and desert zone of the earth. Specifically, Dromedary are available in India, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, China and Afghanistan. The Bactrian are prevalent in India, China, Mongolia, Russia and African countries. Similarly, Llamoids are only found in Peru, Bolivia, United States and Canada. Therefore, due to limited availability of camels and llamas, less attention has been paid so far regarding its proper documentation. However, it is a very  important animals in desert for the livelihood of the peoples. Only 3-4 books on camels are available thoughout the world, but llamas are not covered in these available books. Therefore, it is an attempt to present all important aspects of husbandary of the less known animals in the book. The book has been organized in 10 chapters viz. introduction, haematology, digestion and nutrition, breeding and reproduction, mummary glands and milk, growth of camelids, meat and meat products, fibre production, camels for draught and behavior and management of the camels. This book has been written for the graduate and post graduate students as the text book of globle importance and reference materials for researchers and teachers.
