The book is a maiden attempt to document, critically read and translate, exclusively and extensively, the folklore of Baigas, a primitive tribal community of Central India, in English from a literary viewpoint. It further endeavours to construct a structure and the literary body of the forms and techniques of Baiga folklore. The present book is a pious venture to create a space and identity for Baiga folklore, which is so rich and varied in theme and form but has unfortunately been unseen and unturned, in the realm of literary studies and get this literature a position amongst other tribal and indigenous literatures of the world.
