Synopsis India is a developing country, growing rapidly—rather on a fast pace. It claims to be a welfare state, with equal opportunities for all. But, ironically, a big chunk (read half) of our society, is neglected badly. The women are still a deprived lot. Despite all efforts for the emancipation and empowerment of women, the goal is quite far away. This work deals with the real state of women in the Indian society, at all levels—social, economic and political. The empirical approach and objective analysis makes this book a valuable asset for the academics, scholars and students. Hopefully, it would be received well.
