Synopsis Management of public expenditure and containing fiscal deficit are some of the major policy issues facing the Government. National Institute of Financial Management had organised a workshop of financial Advisers of various Central Ministries of Government of India with a view to identify issues and suggest measures for imporved financial management in Government. The deliberations of the workshop, as presented in the book, are expected to enhance the understanding of budgetory and expenditure management systems in Government and help in redefining the role of the Financial Adviser in the management of finances of the Government.
