Job Satisfaction of Teacher Educators

Synopsis Teacher educators are responsible to provide the totality of experiences which contribute to the preparation of a person for a teaching profession, and to help to qualify a person to assume the responsibilities as a member of the educational profession. The teacher educators who prepare teacher should have adequate job satisfaction as it influences the quality of teacher education. Identifying the role of job satisfaction, a study has been undertaken to study the job satisfaction and its correlates. The teacher educators are deriving job satisfaction from the students, facilities and personal involvement, but expressed their dissatisfaction towards the role of management. The association between job satisfaction and organisational climate is strong and significant, whereas the association between job satisfaction and personality characteristics is not significant. The sex, teaching experience and financial aid or no-aid from the government to teacher educators do not have any influence on job satisfaction of teacher educators. This research study will help many researchers, policy planners, and management personnel in enhancing the job satisfaction of teacher educators through plans and policies.
