This book is the first comprehensive guide to the skinks of India. Comprising of ~60 currently recognised species in ~16 genera, India has a large diversity of skinks living in a multitude of landscapes. This book includes a detailed description of all the currently valid species, described from the Zoological collections of the Zoological survey of India and other museum collections such as the Bombay Natural History Society. This book also contains color images for every species, descriptive illustrations for identifying genus level characters, distribution maps made from pervious recorded literature.
