This anthology is based on the papers that were presented in several seminars organized over the years by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Study Centre. Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. I thank all the contributors for their hard work both for the seminars and, since their patience with the regrettably usual pattern of receding deadlines, for their respective contributions to a collection which will provide a focal point for some time to come on the philosophy of Radhakrishhan.
