He was drawn to the writings and teachings of spiritual masters like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj and J. Krishnamurti, to name a few. He had the blessings and guidance of a living sage, Raju Swamy, popularly known as 'Theni Swamy'.
