Fr Dr. V.S. Manickam and his colleagues from the Centre for Biodiversity and Biotechnology, Xavier Research Foundation, St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu conducted continuous field work in the hills of Southern Western Ghats for four years. The results of their study are being brought out as the Flora of Tirunelveli hills.

Volume I Polypetalae has already been published. Volume II Gamopetalae is presented here with 565 taxa in 225 genera and 26 families. The flora incorporates details of distribution, taxonomic account, endemism and conservation status for all the taxa. This book will be of great help to students, teachers, research scholars, environmentalists, taxonomists and biologists in general.
