This volume is a humble attempt to present many of the unexplored and hitherto neglected Sakti-shrines of South Odisha in a critical, compact and comprehensive manner. The main concern of the book is to study and highlight the every bit of information available regarding the origin, rites and rituals, fairs, festivals and paintings associated with Sakti cult of southern part of Orissa. Epigraphical records literary sources and even folk lore were utilized for the construction of this work. For the research scholars and teachers this book will provide a new insight for further research on religion and religious history of Orissa in general and Sakti cult in particular.
