Synopsis Ragas, the expressional means of Indian Classical Music, are presented through compositions. Composition is the index of a raga through which, each speciality of a raga is revealed. Every raga is presented in a specific manner in each Gharana. A Gharana’s special manner of presenting the composition, on the one hand enhances the beauty of a raga and on the other, it captures special features of a raga and preserves it. This work presents compositions of Senia Gharana. There is virtually no work done in the field of instrumental music; with the result of that a deep void has always been felt. The present work fills that vacuum to a considerable extent. The salient feature of this book is that the author has presented traditional compositions, compositions of Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan and Pt.
