New Horizons in Indian Art and Archaeology contains sixteen scholarly articles written by erudite scholars. The volume focuses on archaeological remains on the banks of River Bansadhara-Nagavali, temple architecture of Khallikote, Nayagarh and Warangal; sculpture and iconography, craft guilds in medieval Telangana, temples and mathas of Rayagada, numismatics, religion, ethno-medicine and folk theatre. A rare relief sculpture of Hari-Hara Lingodbhava form from Devikapuram, Tamil Nadu is brought to light and analyzed critically with the help of texts and other sources. Evolution of Visnu and his tutelary forms and Laksmi motifs through Indian coinage is well illustrated chronologically. Origin of Saivism in south Odisha, position of woman in ancient and medieval times and some other articles included in this volume are of great interest. The articles are well illustrated and discussed by giving the reasonable conclusions.
