Synopsis The region of Awadh has attracted the attention of people the world over. We also find considerable literature on the history and culture of Awadh. But somehow authentic material on the administrative aspects of the kingdom of Awadh is scanty. The present book on the administration of Awadh covers the period between 1720 and 1856. It provides an analysis on various aspects of Awadh administration including revenue, justice, police, military and miscellaneous wherein education, health, forest, etc., are covered. For the purposes of interlinking a brief discussion about art, music, architecture, literature, etc., is also there which provides the setting for the Awadh administration. On the whole it is hoped that the book will be able to satisfy the inquisitive minds and should provide an interesting reading as well.
