Synopsis This book seeks to provide, with the support of documentary survey and empirical data, an insight into the problem of marked delay in the onset and acquisition of language. The focus is on the expressive language disorders of the children who are developmentally delayed in language. It examines the probable causes of delayed language development, various types of expressive language disorders, i.e. disorders of speech and writing respectively. The book also suggests the norms and procedures for the development of an "Individualised Language Programme" and explains how this accelerate the language development processes and reduce expressive language disorders. It provide useful guidelines for teachers, speech and language therapists, educators, planners an other personnel working for the education, welfare and remediation of language disordered children by examining and interpreting the results of effectiveness of "Individualised Language Programme" (ILP) which serves to ensure the alternative mode of instruction of children who really need it.
