Synopsis Staff development in higher education is one of the most important aspects to achieve goals of higher education. University Grants Commission has established Academic Staff Colleges in various universities throughout the country. This study evaluates refresher programmes and its effect organised by ASC Kurukshetra University. The study indicates the strengths and shortcomings of these programmes on one hand as well as suggest ways and means for improvement on other.
