Synopsis Technology, specifically in the form of computers and the internet, has become a major focus of education policy and reform in recent years. The teacher plays a key role in determining not only how but how well technologies are used in classrooms, and thus the extent to which technologies improve student performance. This book describes teachers' use of education technology in their classrooms and schools, the availability of this technology to them, training and preparation for their use, and the barriers to technology use they encounter.
