Synopsis Hindi is the official language of Indian Union and quite a few states. it is, therefore, natural that more and more use of this language for all official purposes is being emphasized. The main object of this dictionary is to provide with a ready reference book of all technical terms and usages that are necessary for the administrative and legislative wings of the government. Though the dictionary has been compiled and edited keeping in view the immediate need of the administrative and legislative personal, it may also prove of immense benefit to the students appearing for the different competitive tests for recruitment in the offices of the government of India. the dictionary is comprised of nearly four thousand administrative terms and usages which significantly occur in day-to-day official life and these terms have further been provided with their derivatives, compounds and related phrases. In addition to these terms and phrases the dictionary also contains three important appendices: Appendix I presents some comments, expressions, and phrases commonly used in administration. In Appendix II there are some sentences which are generally used in administrative and legislative official practices and Appendix III enlists certain degrees, diplomas and certificates. All efforts have been made to make the dictionary useful and comprehensive.
