Synopsis The book envisaged by its title 'The Encyclopaedia of Education' is a long awaited book. The author having a mastery over the subject has written the book a lucid language. The book running in two large volumes is a welcome contribution to the field of education, especially, distance education. In the present past high quality technical studies, scuppered in the division between grammar and modern schools sank almost without a trace in the comprehensive school. Those who have crossed over the problem and brought technological level to this high have had to face extraordinary difficulties. Without their long hard and success the present curriculum reform would have had to be promoted on a much water foundation. Current moves have to break this mould and establish technological as well as essential curriculum of all children covering the full range of ability. But the government should sponsor and support this change without which the talent would not be able to succeed. And continue to direct the ablest from technological studies and in the direction what. We unmiskenly think of as untained, pure education. This book is very welcome contribution to the above mentioned field.
