Synopsis With the passage of time the scope of word information has changed with regard to its communication, exchange, sourcing and updation. Global information highways have evolved and with them has come the need to look at reference and information sources in a totally new light. This Manual deals with a vast array of international sources on reference and information in different disciplines and subject divisions. It also includes some general sources to satisfy the current information needs of the users. This Manual divided into chapters which include sources as Bibliographies, Catalogues, Indexing and Abstracting Services, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias supplemented by Yearbooks, Handbooks, directories, Geographical Sources, Biographical sources, Statistical sources, Progress reports, annual Reviews, Advances, etc. Each chapter is developed to provide familiarity with the sources, or tools of the trade, in such a way which allows the organization of material for quick and effective retrievals of information: While others take the users into depth of it through the knowledge of terms, concepts, ideas, etc. Their description is largely based n personal examination of the sources against the standard code of checkpoints which is deemed quite helpful to the students community for which it is prepared.
