Synopsis The present volume contains thirty essays in honour of Prof. Devendra Kaushik, well-known Indian scholar, widely acclaimed as a doyen of Central Asian and Russian studies in India, to mark his 70 birthday. Besides nine contributions from distinguished Indian scholars, the volume also includes twenty-two highly stimulating, well-researched papers by renowned academics, diplomats, public figures and strategic analysts drawn from the three major components of the Eurasian landmass, viz., Russia, China and the Central Asian Republics. The essays included in this volume, appropriately titled Eurasian Vision, shed interesting light on the ongoing process of reform and change in Russia and Central Asia, the problems and prospects of relations between India and Russia, India and China, and India and Central Asia. Of special interest are some of the contributions that deal with the perils and pitfalls of the present-day unipolar world and discuss the imperative need for cooperation between India, Russia and China to create a new multipolar world order.
