Synopsis This is a compilation of selected papers presented at the second International Conference on Water Resources Development and Earth Care Policies held at New Delhi during 18-20, December 2002. On the basis of materials discussed, papers are grouped under five chapters, namely, Ground Water Development and Management (five papers), Drinking Water Supply and Management (six papers), Watershed Development (three papers), Water Resources Management (seven papers) ad Agricultural Development and Conservation, Development and Management of Water Resources for Sustainable Development (seven papers). While most of the papers deal with case studies and on solutions to various problems of water resources management in different parts of the country, some of them have also included economic aspects. Contributors are from Central Ground Water Board, National Institute of Hydrology, Universities and Research Institutes. All papers pertain to different locations in the country; thereby the book represents, by and large, the general approach of researchers dealing with various aspects of water resources management.
