Charger, the dominant male tiger of the tourism zone of Bandhavgarh Tiger reserve was the center of attraction for all visitors for more than a decade. During his last days he was driven out of the park boundary by young tigers. The book 'Charger: The Long Living Tiger' not only gives a brief life history of Charger, but describes in detail the rescue operation to save Charger and transport him to a safe enclosure. All along the description, the book also touches various aspects of wildlife and ecosystem management. Written in a lucid style the book makes an interesting reading and raises certain conceptual issues regarding the conservation of natural habitats.
