Synopsis This Festschrift is in honour of Prof. J.L. Sardana, the legendary figure of the library profession, well known for his high scholarship and intellect, teaching and communication skills, and leadership roles. As professor and former Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, he has been friend, philosopher and guide to his students. Within the academic circles and library fraternity, he served as President Indian Library Association, 1998-2000, Vice President (1999-2001), FID, The Hague (The Netherlands). Member, Research Council (INSDOC); Chairman, National Organising Committee, 49th FID Conference and Congress hosted by INSDOC, 1998. Currently, he is member of Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi and also of several other committees of the Government of India. this Festschrift volume is a humble tribute in honour of Prof. Sardana. It contains 49 contributions from India and abroad.
