Synopsis The need for deepening our understanding of the peasant movement is today widely recognized. This work is a humble presentation of a regional history of peasants and their protest covering a period from 1936 to 1976. This has discussed different aspects of peasant history including imperial impact on rural economy, exploitation of peasantry and peasant reaction, land reforms and social change.
