Synopsis Compilation of a dictionary on any language is an arduous work. It becomes much more arduous when the language is of a remote area about which the literature is scanty Khasi language is spoken by a tribe living in the hilly areas of North-East India. Compilation of Khasi-English Dictionary is no less than a real endevour on the part of the author. Though there is always room for further improvement in a work of this kind, yet this dictionary can definitely claim to have laid the foundation of giving a scientific orientation to the language.
