Synopsis Water resources are decreasing day by day due to the exponential increase in demand. Also, due to human and industrial activities, the quality of water is getting affected resulting in a reduction in the supply of usable water and problems with the disposal of polluted water. This necessitates water conservation strategies at the National, State and Local levels. A number of advanced techniques have been developed on various aspects of water conservation and quality preservation by researchers. Also, there are traditional approaches available and are being used very effectively in various parts of the world.
