Synopsis This book presents a short account of the multidisciplinary nature of environment which includes, Natural resources, Ecosystem, Biodiversity, Environmental pollution, Social Issues and human population in relation to environment. It covers the syllabus, recently introduced by University Grants Commission at undergraduate level for all disciplines, in all the universities, throughout India. The book provides a simple reading so that it is comprehensible even to students with little or no science background. The technical terms used in the book are explained at the end of book and multiple choice, short answer type and essay type questions have been given at the end of each chapter. It is hoped that the book will be of much use to the students of undergraduate classes and for those who have an interest in knowing the environment and its related problems.
