Synopsis The consumers are affected by the supply of defective products, provision of deficient service and various other deceptive practices in the market-place. Consumer movement is viewed as a social movement seeking to augment the rights and powers of buyers in relation to sellers. Consumer, being ignored is not fully protected despite many legal provision and the efforts of voluntary consumer organization. There lies a gap between the consumers and the protective services provided for the redressal of consumer grievances due to ineffective implementation of the policies.
