Synopsis With a paradigm shift from ‘government’ to ‘governance,’ the role of civil society has become central to the transformation of socio-economic order in a democratic society like that of India. However, the civil society organizations are still in a nascent state of evolution in India. That is why, there are only a few Non Government Organizations that are playing a key transformational role in shaping a new India-India that demonstrates faith in the values of justice, equality, equity and empathy. The present work by Dr. Dharmendra Mishra is a Pioneering treaties on the organizational dynamics of four eminent NGOs that are positively influencing the lives of the youth, the underprivileged, the disabled and children. What makes this study unique is its focus on the aspects of leadership, motivation, group dynamics, team building, operational effectiveness and performance management of NGOs.
