Synopsis During the past few years many changes are taking place in education system in India at all levels. People started demanding quality education now. Education is to be need based and demand driven, especially at the tertiary level the higher education. The author being an educationist for about four decades was invited to give endowment lectures, present papers in seminars and conference, on different issues relating to education and development. In this book entitled “Education and Development” she has traced the evolution of education, some crucial issues in higher education and development. The book will be of Interest to the public as well as to the teacher educators and student teachers.
