Synopsis This book deals with the evolution of Buddhism in China and Japan. The author has tried to study the main social, political and cultural traits of Chiina and Japan which helped on alien religion ‘Buddhism’ to establish. He has looked into the political history of China. He has dealt minutely Han period, Sui and Tang period. He has also studied the evolution of different Buddhist sects in China and Japan. However, he was not given special chapter on South Korea. He has also taken not of brief history of South Korea from where Buddhism was introduced to Japan. This book will be of a great help to students, research scholars of Buddhism.
