Synopsis In fact, a thorough study of political parties in historical perspective helps understand the dynamics of political system. Manipur has a very good experience of the working of the political parties. In the absence of documented records the common people are not fully aware of the nature of working of these political parties and their political participation in the governance of the state. Now a new trend has emerged in the state under which many researchers are trying to political parties in Manipur with an objective to visualize the possible future course of political trend and people. ‘Federal Party of Manipur’ which constitutes the subjects of this study has a distinctive objective, ideology and agenda which are drastically different from other political parties. The objective and agenda of this political party is quite relevant to this present political scenario particularly in the context of the mainstream of Indian politics also. Hopefully, this work will prove informative and useful for academics and researchers in the field.
