Synopsis Fundamentals of Home Management and Family Finance are explained in the present book. the importance and meaning of Home Management, now most commonly known as Family Resource Management, are highlighted in the first chapter. Various concepts like goals, values, standards, decision making resources and the process of management are introduced in this chapter. The second chapter views family in the changing society. The third chapter briefly introduces the reader to the concept of “Systems Approach to Study Home Management”. Various aspects of family income and its management are explained in the fourth and fifth chapters. The use of credit by families, its merits and demerits and guidelines for wise use of credit are discussed in the sixth chapter. An understanding regarding cost and standard of living is given in chapters seven and eight respectively. In the ninth and tenth chapters various aspects related to saving and investment are explained. The eleventh chapter gives an understanding about taxation as it affects the family finance to a great extent.
