Synopsis Bryphyes are important model organism in basic research since they are sound subjects for physiological and biochemical experiments. In the present book entitled “Bryophyte Flora of Gujarat (India)”, a total of 67 species which belong to liverworts, hornworts and mosses are described, In addition to the systematics, key for the identification of various species are provided with the ecological zonation of the state. The project was funded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the book will provide the basic field and the researchers for the availability of the materials. This is the first detailed information on the bryophytes of the Gujarat state.
