Synopsis The primary object of the Encyclopaedic Biography is to provide comprehensive and informative biographical description and theoretical contribution of 330 leading economists from 30 countries of the world contributed by more than 250 noted scholars. In making the selection of entries necessitated by the limits of space, the requirements of different classes of students, researchers and common readers have been borne in mind. Application of the above criteria yields not only a list of names for inclusion but also an indication of the importance of the figures concerned and these judgements are reflected in the different lengths of entry.
