Synopsis This title is based on compilation of invaluable contributions made byeminent scholars on theoretical conception of social charity and its practical implication in different existing religions of the world--Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism and Baha'ism. It has also emphasised on the nature of charity in primitive religion. As a theoretical conception, charity has meant both Possessive and selfless love, as well as favour, grace, mercy, kindness, righteousness and liberality.
