Synopsis This book introduces Jhabvala and her novels with reference to the impact of society on modern literature. It explains that Ruth Prawer Jhabvela writes differently from other Indo-Anglian writers due to her different ancestry and traditions, hence she is able to critically examine the east-west encounter in her novels.
