Synopsis Any libraries cannot afford to miss the acquisition of atlas and encyclopaedias and rare books for the use of the readers and the researchers. Such books which cannot be given on loan because of their higher price and their non-availability, on large scale. These books and encyclopaedias and atlas etc. are called reference books. A good librarian keeps important reference books in the library for the use of readers and researchers. It all depends on his abilities, wisdom and talent to acquire useful reference books in every subject for the enrichment of the library.
