Synopsis Textuality and Intertextuality in the Mahabharata is a collection of sixteen essays which sets out to explore the limits of the epic. Moving beyond plot and story the epic has come to represent a complex web of meaning produced through multiple strategies of reading and interpreting it. The present collection of essays represents myriad, interesting and insightful dialogue on textuality and intertextuality of the myths, its meaning and metamorphosis of meaning over the years. The contributors have explored the epic in different genres they have taken traditional and radical interpretation into consideration. Papers included in the book were presented at the National Seminar, on the Mahabharata held at the Dept. of English, Dayanand College, Ajmer sponsored by U.G.C., New Delhi.
