Synopsis Globalisation, in the present scenario, was inescapable necessity in the world in which instant communication minimises the distances between the people. This has hybridised the culture and society internationally, thus the wants demanding comparative advantage as far as possible. Further, globalisation has impinged on the structural changes, leading the developing countries towards industrialisation and mechanisation along with the critical implications of growth, equity, employment, sustenance and poverty. In fact, poverty is one of the major problem which is intensive and intrinsically related to social, cultural, economical and political factors. In this book, an attempt has been made to examine impact of globalisation, structural changes and poverty with special reference to developing countries including India. The nature of influence of globalisation in the trends of trade, transformation and utilisation of resources has also been dealt. A critical appraisal of the policies and programmes pertaining to poverty at different levels has also been attempted.
