Synopsis The phenomenal dawn and ongoing developments of the 21 century bear the testimony that, following the reverberations of ending cold war and bipolarism, India has been faced with a number of marked shifts, adjustments, readjustments and adaptations in her security perspectives and imperatives. Meanwhile, induced by the necessity to strike a reasonable balance between the traditional and relatively newer conceptions of national security in a fragile world, India faces numerous threats and challenges of harmful nature, particularly during the post-Kargil strategic scenario, nuclear and other developments in South Asia.
