Synopsis This work is the first of its kind in India to deal with the subject of Research methodology for Music studies in general and scientific methodology for music research. The author speaks about the concept of scientific methodology from the time of Bharata in his Natyasastra, and the Tantrayukti-s mentioned in our Sastra-s besides prescribing the use of the methodological tools and techniques which are available for the present day research scholars with the advancement of science and technology.
