Synopsis Present work describes the Buddhist monuments discovered by Sir Alexander Cunningham around Bhilsa in Central India, viz., topes at Sanchi, Sonari, Satdhara, Bhojpur and Andheri. It also gives a historical account of the rise, progress and decline of Buddhism; the synods; the life and faith of Sakya; the symbols of Buddha, Dhamma and Samgha.
